About Pixabead
Who makes Pixabead: an independent, free set of tools that turn photos, drawings and pixel art into bead patterns you can actually make.
Pixabead is an independent website made by makers, for makers. It started with a simple frustration: turning a photo into a fuse bead pattern meant either paying for software or squinting at a printout and guessing colours. So we built the tools we wanted ourselves — and kept them free.
What you'll find here
- The Studio: upload a photo, pick a bead brand and a size, and get a printable chart with the exact bead list — Hama, Perler, Artkal, Nabbi and Pyssla colours, matched to what you can actually buy.
- The pattern editor and the pixel art maker: draw from a blank grid, bead by bead or pixel by pixel.
- Free galleries of bead patterns and pixel art templates, sorted by theme and difficulty, each with a chart, a bead list and a row-by-row guide.
- Guides on the practical side of the craft: choosing beads, ironing, finishing, converting photos.
How it works, and what it costs
Everything runs in your browser. Your images are never uploaded to a server; the conversion, the editor and the exports happen on your device. There is no account, no sign-up and no paywall.
The site is funded by advertising and by affiliate links: when you buy beads or pegboards through some of our links we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. That is what keeps the tools free. See our affiliate disclosure for details.
Brands
Hama, Perler, Artkal, Nabbi, Pyssla and other names are trademarks of their respective owners. Pixabead is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any bead manufacturer; we list their colours so your pattern matches the beads in your box.
