The Studio: your photo to bead pattern converter, with every control
The Studio is the full version of the converter. The home page gets you started with a photo, a brand and a size; here you get every control that turns a rough conversion into a chart you actually want to bead. Set the exact width and height in beads or snap to whole 29×29 pegboards, cap the palette at the colours you own, and switch dithering on for photographs or off for logos and pixel art. Brightness, contrast and saturation sliders let you rescue a dark photo before it is matched to Hama Midi, Perler or Artkal S colours, and the background picker removes a plain backdrop with one click so your subject stands alone on the board.
Everything runs inside your browser — the image never leaves your device — and the preview updates as you move each slider, with bead-style rendering, board lines and optional colour codes on every cell. When it looks right, read the material list (code, name and count for every colour), estimate the cost, download a PNG or a printable PDF with one page per pegboard, copy a share link, or send the grid to the pattern editor to touch up single beads by hand.

- Click the background in the preview to remove it, and toggle codes to check the chart.
- Download the PDF or PNG, copy a share link, or open the grid in the pattern editor.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the home page and the Studio?
The home page is a quick start: photo, brand, size, go. The Studio is the same converter with everything exposed — colour limits, dithering, image adjustments, background removal, code overlays, material lists, PDF export and the hand-off to the editor.
Does the Studio upload my photo anywhere?
No. Decoding, resizing and colour matching all happen in your browser with the image kept in memory on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, so family photos and unpublished artwork stay private, and the tool keeps working on a slow connection.
How do I get a cleaner result from a photograph?
Give it room: 48 beads wide or more for a face, keep dithering on, allow 16 to 24 colours, and nudge contrast up a little. Remove a plain background with the picker so the palette is spent on the subject rather than on the wall behind it.
Can I edit single beads after converting?
Yes. Send the grid to the pattern editor with one click and paint, erase or fill individual cells, mirror the design or swap one colour for another. Small patterns travel in the link itself; larger ones are saved in your browser and opened from there.
Which files can I export from the Studio?
A PNG of the chart at any zoom, and a PDF that starts with an overview, continues with one page per pegboard showing colour codes in every cell, and ends with the full material list. Both are free and carry no watermark.
